A Wonderful Gift

My darling missionary companion, DeAnn, didn't come empty-handed. She has been a long-time employee of Deseret Book (my favorite) and brought me a stack of books and cds, and this wonderful plaque. She knows how I adore reading! Just had to share. Thanks DeAnn!!!!!

Disney On Ice

Lucy won four tickets to Disney on Ice from our wonderful library. We were so excited. We chose to attend the show on New Year's Eve. It was a blast! Here are a few pix of the show...(Note: I was not the photographer). We took her buddy, Aiden with us and they were so cute together.

My Birthday/Christmas Gift

It has been two months since my birthday and I still haven't posted about the wonderful birthday/Christmas gift that Jim and Lucy got for me. So, here she is, the QC1000.I love her!
Here is one of the first projects I made on her: a pillowcase for my niece, Rachel's, birthday. Notice the name is monogrammed on the case??? I'm in HEAVEN!

DeAnn, DeeAnn and Lucy

Sunday was DeAnn's last day here so we had Jim take a photo for posterity...tee hee.

I WON!

Did you know you can sign up to win free books on Goodreads? I didn't either until the other day when I was browsing their site and signed up for a bunch of chances to win. And...I won!

It's called the Wee Musketeers by Robert Bresloff and illustrated by Daniel Ziembo. The description reads: It was the 1960s and there wasn't much else for three eleven year old boys to do in the small town where they lived. Playing with wooden swords they would act out the novel, Bobby pretending to be Athos, Fritz, Porthos and Keith, Aramis. But since there was only three they had no D'Artagnan. How the boys longed for a D'Artagnan to complete their games. Little did they know that the book Grandpa Max read to them was magic. given to him by a mysterious old woman at a book sale, Bobby's grandfather quickly discovered he could transport himslef into the stories. Grandpa Max realized that he had interfered with the story enough to change the book, unwittingly getting Athos, Porthos and Aramis captyured by the Cardinal guards to keep them from helping D'Artagnan, he summoned Bobby and his friends to join him and help repair the damage. If they failed every copy of The Three Musketeers would change forever.

I can't wait to read it! I'll let you know how I like it.

Buca di Beppo

My baby brother, Marcus, was in Anaheim for the NAMM Convention and brought his family for a quick couple of days at Disney. We drove down and had dinner with them at Buca di Beppo. This was our first time there and I can't believe I didn't think to take pix of the food. It was outrageous. Never order the large item...we ate on it for DAYS!
